Step 5: Select your icon

Tick the ones you want to appear on the desktop:

computer (this PC),

recycle bin,

network,

control panel,

user files,

Then Apply > OK

Now your icons will appear on the desktop!

 

Method 2: Right-click menu (quick way)

Right click on desktop

> Click Personalize

Themes > Desktop icon settings

Select icon > Click Apply.

Method 3: Show/hide all desktop icons

If you see all desktop icons are hidden. Then right click on desktop. Hover over the view > click > Show desktop icon

✔ Tick will appear

❌ If not ticked it will be hidden

 

Additional Tips:

Many laptops have hidden icons, folder and file shortcuts by default that you can place on your desktop. If the recycle bin is not showing, it can be fixed from here.
